Well, this is a totally bonkers idea!
It seems an absolute age when we were last on our motorbikes, and indeed it is. October!! Life has settled into a new routine with the latest lockdown. It's been almost four months since we went into a second lockdown, then Tier 4, then this third lockdown...as Dr Spock once said - "It's life, Jim, but not as we know it".
So, not being allowed to use motorised two wheels we took to pedal power and decided to kick start our fitness campaign with a Sofa to 50km in 8 weeks cycling challenge. We completed this last Sunday.
Whilst we feel proud of ourselves for achieving this, we do need to get so much fitter for our Round the World Trip. So how to keep motivated? Well, being the totally bonkers and idiotic lunatics that we are, we thought we would set up our own bespoke and unique challenge. We have found a great app called Challenge Hound and it plots a map to show where we are within our challenge so that we can keep track.
What's the challenge? Well, having achieved 50km obviously the sky is now the limit and so we are going to cycle, walk and swim (when pools open again) the distance from London Heathrow to Vancouver International Airport. Don't worry it's only 4724 miles! We've given ourselves a year to complete this but we're hoping we manage it by Christmas.
Why London to Vancouver? There's a link on our homepage of this website that explains the challenge properly and there's also sponsorship/fundraising on the link too. Absolutely no pressure to anyone to sponsor us, but we're hoping people will enjoy following our progress and feel we're entertaining enough for even just the cost of a coffee... ☕
So take a look. It's worth a couple of minutes just for the laugh factor... 🤣😂🤣
It's always impossible to get a sensible selfie!
